Once housing the cargo of international traders, the Royal Albert Dock is now home to some of the city’s best tourist hot spots, nightlife and even apartments that overlook the docks.

Despite Liverpool’s rich and prosperous maritime trade being a distant memory, the domineering warehouses of the Royal Albert Dock that join Liverpool to the River Mersey has ensured that the city will never lose its connection to its past.

The area has a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants, each with the atmospheric pillar-box red cast-iron columns that support the ceilings above. The docks are also the where much of Liverpool’s cultural treasures dwell from modern art in Tate Liverpool to The Beatles Museum and the Mersey Maritime Museum.
